Can anyone tell me how to turn off (reset) the service reminder light on the hour meter of my X485. The E100 Operator's Manual explains the service indicator. Per the manual they don't list an oil change at 8 hrs. If it were my mower I would still do one. The hourmeter (A) shows the number of hours the engine has run. The service reminder will indicate that a general lubrication (B) or mower/engine (C) service interval has been reached.. The service reminder will reset itself during normal operations.. This is done thru a shunt in the ignition system. If you unplug the hr meter, the engine will turn over but wont start. No spark.
