Calibration is not required with the Dexcom G7 Continuous Glucose Monitoring system. However, you can log a BG meter value as an event, or use a BG meter value as a calibration within the G7 App on your smart device or on the receiver.. I've found I have much better luck calibrating the g7 in "baby steps" (no more than about 20 points per calibration about 1/2 hour apart) until you get the readings close to the finger stick value. When I tried calibrating with big number differences, the sensor just swung in the opposite direction of the finger stick value and wouldn't get any closer. Also, you could always try to.
I just installed a new G7 sensor this morning and when it loaded up it started beeping and giving me the LOW message, but I felt fine. I used my BG machine and pricked my finger and got 243. So I entered that number on the G7 app and it's been calibrating ever since. Anyone else have this happen? How long does it normally take to calibrate?.
