Recently I've been reading about Def Tech's Studio Monitor 450. According to what I've read, they may fit my needs very well. I'm looking for a bookshelf that can give me the detail I'm looking for in the big music. Booming bass is no concern, but I do like nice tight bass as low as possible.. I'm looking around for a 2.0 setup, and it seems as though the Definitive Technology Studio Monitor 450 are a good buy for the money. They're currently at $250.. Definitive made their name in dipole speakers and speakers with integrated side firing woofers, which I don't think these have. I would rather go for a parts express Dayton BR-1 kit.
Well, I finally succumbed to a severe case of GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) and bought a pair of Definitive Technology Studio Monitor 450's on closeout from that Egg place using an extra 10% off coupon as I wanted something to go in my kitchen. They arrived earlier this afternoon and I immediately hooked them up and popped on a couple of my favorite CDs..
