I have a Goodman SSX160361BA that is short cycling. It still cools the house, but it cycles off and on in 45 second to one-minute cycles. Is it something simple like replacing the capacitor?. The unit does not short-cycle during the day. It seems to be an issue it has at night. Perhaps the condenser is freezing up?. What I saw was the temperature was still 2° from set point, the display indicated the unit was Â"onÂ" and the equipment status was showing both stages running and fan on. However noth8ng was running. I went back outside and the Tech had spotted a C3 status on the display inside the outdoor unit, Â"Cool Mode Short Cycle TimerÂ" .
