API Outdoors AlumiTech Grand Slam Extreme Climbing Treestand [Review

I have a API Grand Slam Magnum Supreme. I bought it last season and I'm using it again to start this season but I don't think I'll be using it by the end of the year. While the quality of the stand is great I've found that it's too much on the heavy side. At 30lbs it's a pain to haul the stand deep into the woods.. I have a api grand slam supreme magnum bought around 2000. I still use the stand regularly. I inspect the welds periodically, always looks good. I am wondering if I NEED to replace the chains, they are original. Stand has never been shock loaded, never been left outside for more than 1 night at a time, rarely used in the rain..
