I've drawn up a 4x12 wiring diagram for series/parallel. This is identical to how Marshall wired them in the late 60's through the late 70's.. My testing of all of these wiring schemes led me back to the old Marshall style wiring I have above, and I would strongly advise you to go with that for your best tone. In addition, changing the.. Marshall 4x12 Wiring in Series - Parallel Four 16 ohm speakers = 16 ohms total load Four 8 ohm speakers = 8 ohms total load Red wires are positive Black wires are negative Position speaker terminals in towards the center of the cab. The 4x12 cabinet is sometimes referred to as a half-stack, and players routinely connect two of them to a single amp to create a full stack. A 4x12 cab is typically 16 ohms, so when you connect two of them together in parallel, the total load becomes 8 ohms. Most amplifiers on the planet can run an 8-ohm load, so this is desirable.. I recently rewired my Marshall 1960av (vintage 30's) cab with 12 gauge wire and followed the diagram thats on the Mesa web site (thanks Marshallhead). It works great! I discovered several different diagrams floating around for series/parallel wiring including the one on the celestion site. I also replaced the input jack.
