Most Cherry MX Switches -- including the blue, MX1A-E1NW switch we carry -- have a recess in their body designed to fit a small 3mm LED. An "A" on the top side of the switch and a diode symbol on the backside both show the recommended polarity of the LED. The LED's recessed home in the switch. Note the "A" indicator for the LED's "anode.". The complete guide to understanding every Cherry MX mechanical switch. I cover everything you need to know including the feel, weight and sounds of each switch.. The tree diagram really helped the process become more simple than trying to figure out each aspect of each switch. Reply. Burt. February 16, 2020 at 10:43 pm.

CHERRY MX product identification To select or identify the correct CHERRY MX switch, have a look at the article number for a comprehensive overview of design and variant. "MX" stands for the product itself. The third and fourth character identify the type of stem (i.e. "Standard" or "Silent") and the type of contact.. So I just decided to make a guide to all Cherry MX switches that I currently know of (as of July 19, 2020) for purposes of convenience and avoidance of confusion. This guide includes: switch names categorizations of linear, tactile, and linear-clicky switches actuation forces for each switch in grams brief descriptions for each switch
