The Gold Room, or The Gold Ballroom is a large ballroom contained within the Overlook Hotel. The Red Bathroom is attached to the Gold Room. In the book, it was named The Colorado Lounge. The original name was used for the 1980 film's sitting room, which is a room where guests can relax and read or chat. The Gold Room is presumed to be the most haunted room in the hotel, besides Room 217/237.. The Ahwahnee hotel also features a large room called the El Dorado Diggins bar which is themed to the California Gold Rush period. The El dorado Diggns Bar at the Ahwahnee Hotel The mining of gold was an important motive for early settlers and so Kubrick has included a Gold Room in the Overlook hotel, where Jack reminisces with his own past.

Because nobody else seems to have compiled a video containing all four songs heard in the Gold Room scene from Stanley Kubrick's 1980 horror masterpiece 'The Shining', I decided to do it myself. A.. The sets for the film The Shining were built at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood England. In 1978 Stanley Kubrick used almost all stages on the site.
