A seven-member "quartet," the Inspirations were led by Martin Cook until his retirement in 2017. Cook was inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2003, and was awarded the Marvin Norcross Award in 2002—the two highest honors in the Southern gospel industry.. After the concert his father and mother took him to The Inspirations product table, where they bought him an Inspirations ball cap that he still wears today as a proud member of the group. Welcome to the official website of Archie Watkins, founding member of The Inspirations Quartet! We are excited to be back on the road again in this New Year. We have upcoming dates on the Touring Schedule page so that you will know when we will be in your area.. Original Inspirations tenor Archie Watkins became the new owner and manager of the group. The other members of Watkins' group, Smoky Mountain Reunion (all former Inspirations), were blended with the current group giving them seven singers in total. Utility musician Luke Vaught assumed piano duties.
