Death Note, for me at least, was an anime about moves and counter moves. About Light outsmarting L, but then L outsmarting Light's outsmarting, then Light outsmarting L's outsmarting of his outsmarting, and so on. My problem with L's death is that, for a show that, like I said, is all about outsmarting people, it really didn't feel like Light outsmarted L here, it just feels like Light won..
