A set of custom two-valve models were built for the US Marines Drum & Bugle Corps. A special single valve Bb bugle was commissioned for use by the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment "Old Guard" Fife and Drum Corps as they celebrate 50 years of service.. G-F bugles were allowed by the American Legion Supervisory committee to be used in Drum and Bugle Corps contests since 1968. After Drum Corps International (DVI) was founded in 1971, it allowed the use of two-valve bugles in 1975.
